Now to open the application just type the command buttercup-desktop on shell prompt. Refer the command below.

After open the buttercup password manager application for first time you will get below screen in front of you. Here just click on add archive.
Then select New archive file.
Now you have to give a name for your new archive and set a path where you want to store your password database. Refer the snapshot below.
Now set your password for buttercup best free password manager application authentication.
