CENTOS 7.5 HAS BEEN RELEASED WITH NEW UPDATES, FEATURES AND BUG FIXES ON 10 MAY 2018
There is a great news for Open Source application lovers. CentOS has officially released it’s new version i.e. CentOS 7.5 (1804) on 10 May 2018 with latest features, Updates and bug fixes. Recently the Redhat Enterprise Linux 7.5 released on 10 April 2018 and just after near by one month CentOS 7.5 has released which is completely based on RHEL 7.5.
As we all know that CentOS operating system is a clone of RHEL hence it is comes with all security updates and updated repositories from RHEL 7.5.
For those who are currently using previous version of CentOS and want to install the newest one without formatting then you can do so by following some simple steps. What you have to do is just open the terminal and run the below two commands.
$ yum clean all $ yum update
Post running above commands it will take some time to complete the upgrade process and you are ready with CentOS 7.5. As per official announcement there are so many packages and repositories has been modified, removed and added with this new release. Some major applications are DHCP, HTTPD, Firefox, Yum, GRUB2, Thunderbird …etc…
OR if you would like to go with fresh installation then just Click Here to download the ISO installation image file and start the installation. CentOS 7.5 supports almost all hardware. Both 32 Bit and 63 Bit ISO images are available for download so you can get the same as per your requirement. But If you want to just use the features of CentOS 7.5 without installing it then you can use the Live media images. Just boot from Live image and you are ready to use CentOS 7.5. Both KDE and Gnome desktop environment are available with this new release.
Now what is the minimum requirement for installation of CentOS 7.5. Well nothing much. You have to have at least 1 GB of RAM in your system to be install this OS or if you want to use the Live OS then have at least 1.5 GB of RAM.
